Programs & Enrollment

Our curriculum is deeply committed to fostering social skills, knowledge, and understanding of cultural diversity through a variety of storytelling, singing, music, games, foods, field trips, holidays, and special events. Each activity is designed to meet the children’s individual needs and interests, promoting an inclusive and adaptive learning environment.

Our Programs

  • Focus: Enhancing the child’s feeling of competence, encouraging development of independence, self-help skills, and positive social interactions.

    Activities: Include problem-solving tasks and language development through positive interactions.

  • Focus: Providing a rich and interesting environment that encourages exploration with all senses. Activities are aimed at boosting self-esteem, independence, and social skills, while fostering a sense of autonomy.

    Learning Tools: Use of anti-stereotype materials and curriculum to promote diversity; inclusion of major holidays from various cultures in the childcare calendar, shared with families through newsletters.

  • Curriculum Areas: Personal and social development, language, mathematics, science and technology, and the arts.

    Development Goals: Encourage self-esteem, social skills, basic academics like number and letter recognition, and provide a flexible, choice-driven environment.

  • Focus: Providing children with choices in their leisure activities that foster creativity, imagination, and productivity.

    Environment: Supportive and nurturing, helping children develop their talents and interests through sports, games, projects, and social interactions.

Curriculum Development

Weekly Planning:

Staff plan programs with specific themes and goals for each week, developing activities around overall themes such as seasons, shapes, careers, self-concept through arts and crafts, circle time, stories, and music.

Outdoor Play:

Considered essential for development, children spend at least 1 hour outside in the morning and afternoon, weather permitting.

Continuous Assessment:

Staff plan programs with specific themes and goals for each week, developing activities around overall themes such as seasons, shapes, careers, self-concept through arts and crafts, circle time, stories, and music.

Program Adaptability:

Once enrolled, children are given priority for future year enrollments with notifications of term renewals. We make every effort to accommodate the child for future years where term renewals are requested by parents.

Enrollment & Fees

Understanding our fee structure and enrollment process is crucial. As proud participants in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System (CWELCC), we ensure our pricing and practices meet national standards, providing affordable, accessible, and inclusive child care for all families.

Fee Schedule:

Toddler: $478.50 per month Pre-School: $432.34 per month

Full Day Kindergarten (FDK): $314.21 per month

(FDK) – July & August Summer Camp: $420.52 per month

School-Age: $550.00 per month

School-Age July and August summer camp: $765.00 per month


Fee Changes: Please note that fees are subject to change with a 30-day notice period, ensuring all families are well-informed in advance.

Waiting List Policy:

We maintain a waiting list when the Centre is full. Priority is given based on the date of application and specific enrollment categories.

  • The centre is fully enrolled for the Sept 2025/2026 school year across all age groups.

  • No current vacancies.

  • Interested families should email the Centre, we will do our best to respond within 48 hours.

Categories:

  • Current children advancing in age group.

  • Children of WPCC employees.

  • Children of WPPS employees.

  • Siblings of enrolled children.

  • Community residents.

Financial Obligations During Absences:

Vacations: Fees must be maintained during vacation periods. Withdrawn children for vacations must re-register and will be placed on the waiting list.

How to Enroll:

STEP 1: Complete the enrollment application and submit required documents.

STEP 2: Visit our Centre for a tour and meet our staff.

STEP 3: Attend an orientation session with your child to familiarize them with the Centre.

To be considered for enrollment at West Prep Children’s Centre, families must reside within the school zone defined by West Prep Public School. Use the link below to verify your address and ensure you fall within our community catchment area.

Enrollment Zone Information

Deposit:

A deposit of $350 is required upon enrollment, which is refundable with one month’s written notice upon withdrawal.

Monthly Fees:

Fees are due on the first day of each month. Full monthly fee is required to secure your space once enrollment is confirmed.

Payment Methods:

We accept personal cheques, certified cheques, and money orders. Payments are to be made payable to ‘West Prep Children’s Centre of Toronto.

Late Fees:

A late fee of $25 is charged for payments received after the 1st of the month, with an additional $5 daily until full payment is made.

Non-Sufficient Funds:

NSF cheques will incur a charge of $25.00 plus the outstanding fee, due within 48 hours of notification.
